Kapil Dev admitted to ICU due to a heart attack on Friday
Former Team India captain Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack on Friday morning, after which he was immediately admitted to the Fortis Escort Hospital in Delhi. The 62-year-old elderly cricketer underwent angioplasty and is said to be stable.
Fortis Escorts Hospital issued a press release saying, “Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev, age 62, came to the emergency department of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) on October 23 at 1 pm with a chest pain complaint. He was evaluated and at midnight, the director of the cardiology department, Drs. An emergency coronary angioplasty was performed by Atul Mathur. ”
Currently, he is admitted to ICU and DRS. Atul is closely monitored by Mathur and his team. The statement said that Kapil Dev is still stable and will be discharged in a few days. The 62-year-old felt unwell after being admitted to a hospital here on Thursday, quoting Ashok Malhotra, President of the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA). The World Cup-winning captain is quite active with his thoughts on cricket in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which runs till 2020.
