According to the Trinamool Congress’s (TMCI) Sunday announcement of the candidate list for all 42 West Bengal seats, cricketer Yusuf Pathan has made a thrilling entry into politics as the party’s candidate from the esteemed Berhampore Lok Sabha constituency.
Berhampore, the home base of Congress leader Adhir Choudhury, who has won here five previous times, is set up for a fierce contest that could pit Yusuf Pathan against Adhir Ranjan Choudhury. Furthermore, it has been announced that veteran Congress leader Kirti Azad would run from Bardhaman-Durgapur, while Mohua Moitra has been given a seat in Krishna Nagar, her second straight ticket.
