Asked to show papers, cop dragged on vehicle’s bonnet for 25-km in Surat
Surat: In a shocking incident, a Gujarat policeman was purportedly dragged on the vehicle’s bonnet for 25-km because of he asked the driver to show the documents. The incident took place in the Surat district on Saturday morning.
In the meantime, an FIR has been registered at Navsari police station in contrast to the pickup van driver and 7 passengers on charges of kidnapping and endangering human life.
On Saturday, the two constables-Ganesh Chaudhary and Kishan Govind-who were giving their duty in the Navsari Railway Station area then they stop pickup driver van to see their transport documents.
As the driver could not show the documents, he tried to run away from the spot. The constable Ganesh Chaudhary held on to one of the passengers of the vehicle and clambered its bonnet.
According to police, the driver does not stop the vehicle and non-stop to drive the vehicle on the National Highway-48 even as the constable was on to the bonnet.
After reaching Baleshwar village in Palsana taluka, the driver applied the breaks through which the constable to fall on the ground. The driver then escaped from the spot. The policeman was later admitted to the hospital after he feels pain injuries in the incident.
Then constable later filed a complaint against the driver and 7 passengers at Navsari police station. The defendant were booked under Sections 365 (abduction), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt with intent to prevent or deter a person, 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 337 (endangering human life), 114 (abetment to crime) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The condition of the constable is better and he has been discharged. On the basis of the vehicle’s registration, we are investigating the persons involved in the incident.
